Edward Francis Stephen Saunders

Edward “Ted” Francis Stephen Saunders was born in Wolverhampton, England, on April 3, 1925, and brightened the lives of those around him for 87 years until the day he left us on October 29, 2012.

Ted enlisted in the British Army and served in an artillery battalion during World War II. He served the rest of his career as a military policeman, was deployed to India, where he survived the Great Calcutta Riot of 1946. At times he escorted Mahatma Ghandi. In 1947, Ted was stationed in Israel during the occupation of Palestine. Ted returned to England and was stationed in Liverpool, where he met the love of his life, Catherine “Kitty” McGann. Ted and Kitty have two children of this union, Christina Sandra Arnott and David Edward Saunders, both of Tulsa. Ted and his family immigrated to Tulsa in 1961. After retirement he worked for Wal-Mart for 25 years

The world seems a little less bright without you in it, Ted.
