Joan Ruth McGrew

Joan Ruth McGrew, wife, mother, teacher and nana, was born March 27, 1931. She had a great love for her family. She went to Mustang High School, where she played basketball. She enjoyed sports and continued her love of basketball and went to all the ORU games for years. She taught public school in Tulsa for more than 30 years and was proud of all her students. After retiring they were able to travel all over the world and even step foot on Antarctica just to say they had been to every continent. She was an avid runner and was proud to be able to run in the Tulsa Run, Pepsi Run and many others. She had many accomplishments as a runner and loved to exercise. She also love to sing and play the piano.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Arthur McGrew, and sons, Steve and Jeff McGrew and his wife, Anita, all of Tulsa, OK and grand children, Brian McGrew, Meggan McGrew, Kayla Than and Miranda Sellers and great grandchildren, Elana, Colin, Rex, Jace and Cannon. Also survived by her sisters, Patsy Raper, Sue Simpson and Jane Moen and all their children and grandchildren.

Services will be held at Boston Avenue Methodist Church on February 20, 2016 at 11:00 am in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
