Anna Lucille Sneed Musgrove

Anna Lucille Sneed Musgrove, 80, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 18, 2015 at 7:31 am. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Musgrove was born January 26, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas. She grew up in Texas, Georgia and Tennessee, and later graduated from Brackenridge High in San Antonio in 1953. She received her nursing degree from Texas Christian University in 1957 and became certified as a Registered Nurse. A resident of Tulsa since 1969, Mrs. Musgrove was a long-time member of St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, where she served as a lay reader, a cupbearer and a member of the Church's Vestry. Mrs. Musgrove also was the founder and driving force of the St. Dunstan’s Adult Day Care program, which was later integrated into a similar program at Saint Simeon’s in Tulsa.

Mrs. Musgrove was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Harold Leonard “Hal” Musgrove. She is survived by her two sons, Harold Leonard Musgrove, Jr., of Dallas, Texas, and Richard Edward Musgrove, of Walnut Creek, California, and her four dear grandchildren, Maile Lynn Musgrove, Madison Mae Musgrove, Koa Kyle Musgrove and Anna M'Lynn Musgrove. She was also survived by her brother, Edgar Pauling Sneed, and her nieces Suzanne Sneed Sandoval, Mary Sneed Tadlock, Betty Lucille Sneed, Nancy Sneed, Peggy Sneed Turner and many great nieces and great nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Sneed, her brother, Richard Sneed, her mother, Belle Goodrich Sneed, and her father, Richard B. Sneed.

Lucille was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and great aunt. When not gainfully employed, she was a world-class volunteer, giving copious amounts of her time to the American Red Cross, RNCV (an organization for which she was volunteer nurse of the year so frequently that the organization awarded her a lifetime honor), St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church and many other worthy organizations. She was an exemplary Cub Scout den mother and football mom to her sons. She was generous with both her assets and her time, and many friends and family were beneficiaries of her remarkable nursing skills, love and compassion. Lucille Musgrove was a true steel magnolia in the finest sense of the word. She joins her husband Hal in heaven so that they may resume their life-long love affair.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Oklahoma Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 2448 E. 81st St., Suite 3000, Tulsa, OK 74137.
