Leroy Faucett

Leroy Faucett (Eddie Leroy), was born in Detroit, Texas on March 5, 1930 to Bessie and Eddie Irvin Faucett. Leroy died of complications from an aneurysm on May 6, 2014 in Oklahoma City.

Leroy attended Draughon’s Business College in Dallas, Texas, graduating with a degree in Accounting. He went to work for Texaco, first in Dallas, then to Amarillo, retiring in Tulsa in 1988 as Coordinator, Research and Planning, Marketing Department, Central Lubricant Division.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years Crystal Jean; daughter Donna of Amarillo, TX; son Richard Lee, his wife Donielle and grandson Eddie Parker all of Amarillo, TX; step-daughter Darla Janene Harral of Cape Canaveral, FL; granddaughter Jessica Janene Chandlee of Tulsa; brother Douglas, and his wife Peggy of Garland, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Jean, the mother of his three children; older brother Royce; and his youngest son, Robert Allen Faucett.

Leroy began playing guitar at the time he was in business school and played and sang country music in many bands over the years. He continued that love throughout his life, sharing it with his wife Jean. His last “session” with friends was on Friday, May 2.

A celebration of Leroy’s life will be held at the Fellowship Congregational Church, 29th and Harvard in Tulsa, on Saturday May 17, 2014 at 12 Noon. Lunch will be served. Lots of country music will be played and Leroy’s memory will live on. Country musicians are invited to come, bring their instrument of choice and join an afternoon of music.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to go to the American Diabetes Association.
